SLOVNAFT, A.S., BRATISLAVA – REPAIR OF DEFECTS ON PIPELINE BRIDGE

In the middle of October 2011, we started to repair defects on the pipeline bridge in Slovnaft premises in Zimný prístav. The repair was preceded by geodetic survey of existing elements on the bridge, designing new pendant and gripping equipment, designing and assessing new wind bracing cable assemblies with a total number of 24. The installation itself was carried out at full operation under the bridge.
Any welding or grinding was out of question when boats were being refueled which made the works even more time-consuming. The second stage of works aimed at removing defects on pipeline in Slovnaft premises in Zimný prístav in Bratislava was carried out in summer period. The works included repainting of selected steel structures, complete remediation of all anchor blocks, including coatings, reconstruction of access roads as well as repairing and installing additional protection of cable troughs. The works were carried out above the water and water flow had to be protected from pollution which made the process even more difficult.
