SLOVALCO, A.S., ŽIAR NAD HRONOM – REPAIR OF GALLERIES ON THE REINFORCED CONCRETE VVA CHIMNEY

The reinforced concrete galleries on the +105 m chimney underwent a complete reconstruction in October 2010. Loose parts were removed, reinforcements passivated and then the damaged parts were rehabilitated. Based on the static calculations and provided static model, a shape and density of supporting structures was designed. All repair works took place during the operation of the chimney and the use of breathing apparatuses was necessary which made it even more demanding.
