MONDI SCP – NEW FLUE-GAS DUCTING CONNECTION ON +204M CHIMNEY

In mid-May 2013, we completed “before-shutdown” works on the +204 m high chimney in Mondi SCP. With regard to the construction of a new RK3 boiler, a hole for a new flue-gas ducting connection was cut out in the chimney at a level of about +7.500 + 13.500 m. Due to shaft weakening, a static reinforcement by use of "Monostrand" supporting pre-stress elements, carbon bands and steel bars was carried out. A connecting structure was installed and connected to ventilated mounted liner by an elbow pipe. In the second stage, an inner stainless steel liner will be installed during a planned unavailability time.
