SLOVENSKÉ ELEKTRÁRNE, A.S., ENO PLANT- HTA FLUE-GAS DUCTING REPAIR

A repair of desulphurized waste gas duct system of one of the largest flue-gas ducting in Slovakia was launched during a shutdown in desulphurization unit. The aim of the reconstruction was to replace the bottom part of the flue-gas ducting as well as the guiding metal sheets made of black steel with stainless steel ones of 1.4539 grade. Since the original sheets were part of the steel grid of the overall structure, a process of dismantling and subsequent assembly was chosen based on a static assessment. The total volume of installed anticorrosive metal sheets accounted for about 17,000 kg. The repair works also comprised a repair of the internal surfaces of black steel coatings as well as a replacement of expansion bend with dimensions of 9 x 4 m. The fact that the repair was performed during a shutdown with no possibility of extending the deadline made it even more difficult.
