CMR, S.R.O., PÚCHOV – A GENERAL REPAIR OF A 120M HIGH CHIMNEY COMPLETED

On 20^th September 2009, our company completed a total reconstruction and reduction of the 120m high steel chimney in CMR Púchov. On this day, the chimney was handed over to the representatives of energy department. The whole reconstruction of the chimney was quite difficult because it was carried out at the time of constructing the neighbouring factory buildings. The chimney reduction was carried out by a gradual burning and cutting of the stainless-steel casing and the load-bearing shaft made of black steel while conveying each piece weighing up to 15 tons to a stockpile by the aid of Felbermayr wheeled crane with the lifting capacity of up to 130m. After reducing the chimney, an overall repair of the remaining parts of the chimney as the chimney top, hopper, liner casing, EMS emission measurements and other auxiliary parts followed. The complete overhaul was delivered within agreed deadline before the start of the winter heating season.
